Boreal Skin Repair Salve

All the good things about being in a Canadian forest - minus the mosquitoes and the bears! This hydrating, all-purpose wildcrafted salve is inspired by summertime hikes through the Boreal forest and made with plants and resins selected for their properties of repairing broken, dry, inflamed and irritated skin. Soothing, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-fungal and rich in antioxidants, vitamins and aromatic compounds.

Boreal Skin Repair Salve can be used for burns, bruises, wounds, scarring, treatment for dry skin and ALL the other skin conditions that come with living in our harsh Canadian climate.

Each plant in this salve is sustainably and ethically collected at peak potency during late spring or summer, dried, and then solar-infused in organic oil. Each healing, botanical infused oil is then strained and combined with organic Alberta Beeswax. 

Essential oil free.

Key Ingredients -

Wild Rose: Humectant properties, which help retain moisture in and on the skin. Balancing and restorative for dry and mature skin.

Red Clover: Anti-inflammatory properties for common skin conditions like acne, rashes, psoriasis and eczema. Relieves dry, irritated skin.

Common Plantain: Soothing for skin infections, stings, bites, cracked skin. Helps encourage repair of damaged tissue.

Yarrow: Anti-inflammatory and astringent, helps to balance the skin, particularly for acne prone types.

Old Man's Beard: Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Contains Usnic Acid, which is beneficial for healing wounds and infections. 

Balsam Poplar: High in antioxidants and encourages skin cell regeneration. Wonderful at healing burns (including sunburns), eczema, rashes, acne and cracked skin/heels.

Directions: Apply topically to promote healing of wounds and cuts, and to alleviate itching and dry skin. Can be used on dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. Doubles as a diaper balm. External use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

Contraindications: Please avoid using if you are allergic to Aspirin as Balsam Poplar buds contain natural salicin. Caution recommended for those with seasonal allergies, hayfever or tree allergies (Willow, Poplar) as skin irritation can result. Please do not use if you have severe allergies to plants in the Asteraceae Family.
